For ring sizes two different values are used within the jewelry industry: the inner diameter in millimeters and the circumference in millimeters.

In the table below you can see exactly what ring size is suitable for the diameter and circumference. In addition, we give you some tips to measure your ring size.

Inner diameter (mm) Circumference (mm)
16 50
16.5 52
17 53
17.5 55
18 56
18.5 58

To find your ring size, choose a ring which fits the same finger and hand as the ring you intend to buy. There are two options to measure the inner diameter of your ring. The first option is to place the ring on a ruler. The visible part on the inside in the middle of the ring shows your size. The second option to measure the inner diameter is by using a Vernier caliper.

Another way to determine your ring size is the measurement of the circumference of your finger. Use a thin strip of paper. Wrap the paper around your finger and make sure the paper is below the joint of your finger and close to your knuckle. Make sure the paper is not too tight, but comfortable around your finger. Mark the point on the paper where it overlaps forming a circle and measure the distance with a ruler. This distance is the circumference of your finger.

General tips:

  • if your ring is between two sizes, we advise you to size up.
  • the size of your fingers is affected by temperature (heat, cold) and conditions (pregnancy, hormones, illness and specific medication). When measuring your finger, make sure your finger is at normal body temperature.
  • please note that the style of the ring can affect the ring size. With wide or stacked rings, we advise to select a half or full size larger compared to your normal size.
