There are many factors which have an influence on the condition of jewelry. Therefore, you should make sure that your jewelry is properly worn, cleaned and stored.

Remove your jewelry before engaging in practical activities. We do not recommend to wear jewelry when you are sleeping, going into water or participating in sporting activities. Water will contribute to tarnishing of your jewelry. Therefore, always remover your jewelry before entering water. Chemicals as found in soaps, cleaning products and swimming pools will increase the tarnishing process.

Not wearing your jewelry during these practical activities will ensure that your jewelry does not get accidentally damaged. Besides, perspiration also affects jewelry.

Beauty products for skin and hair can react with (semi)precious stones and metals, causing your jewelry to tarnish, discolor and even possibly corrode. Therefore, avoid direct contact with lotions, perfumes or oils. We recommend to put on your jewelry on last, after you are fully dressed and have finished your hair and make-up.

Please note that our jewelry consist of (gold plated) Sterling silver, which may darken or tarnish with normal wear. Exposure to air, light and humidity can cause your jewelry to tarnish over time. Besides, excessive light, heat or moisture will deteriorate the quality of the gold plating and (semi)precious stones.

Therefore, when storing your jewelry, we recommend doing so in airtight boxes or bags and store it in a dark space. We do not recommend to store jewelry in damp or humid conditions (such as in a bathroom) or next to heating vents.  We also advise you to store your jewelry separately, so that they will not rub and scratch or tangle up against each other. Storing your jewelry sensibly will keep it looking newer for longer.

For silver and gold plated jewelry, occasional cleaning with a soft cloth will keep your jewelry shiny and remove the oxidation, however, excessive polishing may rub off or scratch the plating.

To brighten up your silver pieces we recommend using a silver dip solution. Always ensure you clean your jewelry after silver dipping with warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush. For gold plated jewelry gently wipe the metal surface with a soft cloth to clean. If necessary, you can use warm soapy water and a soft toothbrush to remove any dirt.
